New Vocational Learning Tech Fund opens in April
In April 2015 Ufi will be launching the Vocational Learning Tech Fund. This will be targeted at supporting UK-based entrepreneurs and organisations to build innovative tech-led vocational teaching and learning solutions. We will be looking for innovations that utilise technology to improve the vocational teaching and training of adults, the learning experience, and assessment of vocational learning.
This call will offer early-stage funding to organisations with proposals that demonstrate the potential for using digital technology in novel and imaginative ways in the field of adult vocational learning. This may be through the development of new services or improving access or delivery of adult vocational learning (including assessment). The fund will provide support for ventures to build their ideas into a more robust digital product or service.
We will be looking for projects which have developed a basic digital prototype which could be developed further - to the point where they have a robust demonstrator which will attract the support of investors and potential customers
Projects seeking funding should:
- Be responsive to user feedback and ideas in both design and development
- Be able to show understanding of the opportunity in adult vocational learning that they are seeking to address
- Be 'scalable' - that can impact very widely as they grow
Successful applicants can each expect to receive grant funding of between £15,000 and £50,000.
While the fund is open for applications there will be a programme of webchats and presentations to help you prepare your bid for funding. Applications to the fund can be made online in April.
