Springpod announce partnership with DfE to develop taster courses for vocational training pathways

Springpod, part of the Ufi Ventures portfolio, has partnered with the Department for Education (DfE) to develop free taster courses for T Levels, apprenticeships and Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQs).

The programme will help to inform young learners about the different options for technical educational and training pathways, enabling them to develop skills for work.

Created in close collaboration with the DfE, these new taster courses will be interactive, providing informative and engaging content covering the key information young people need to know when considering technical education pathways.

Springpod is a careers platform where students can experience the world of work and university before they apply.

For many young people, choosing the right education, training and career pathway remains highly influenced by online resources.  Despite the crucial support given by teachers, parents and career advisers, it can be hard for young people to get a real sense of what it will actually like to follow a certain pathway.

The taster courses aim to equip and empower young people with the knowledge, information and tools to find, apply for and start the pathway that is right for them.

The courses are available now for free on the Springpod website and feature interactive graphics, video content, and quizzes that will unlock a certificate upon completion. The tasters also include insights from T Level, apprenticeship and Higher Technical Qualification students which provide a valuable perspective on what each pathway can offer learners.

Oliver Fisher, Co-Founder and CPO of Springpod, said:

“Our mission here at Springpod has always been to empower young people to take control of their future, and it’s very exciting for us to work closely with the Department for Education to develop engaging online courses that will help them do this. The educational landscape is changing, so we feel it’s of great importance to open young peoples’ eyes and ears to technical education options, such as T Levels, apprenticeships and Higher Technical Qualifications, because it could help them make life changing decisions and put them on a pathway to a brighter future.”

Ufi Ventures invested in Springpod in July 2021.
